Ashley B on Local Music Somewhere
Ashley B, a North Carolina artist, joined Terry Hudaon in the rBeatz studio for a powerful and uplifting conversation about her journey, setbacks, and growth as an artist. She opened up about her experience on American Idol, how it felt to be largely unseen during broadcast despite getting screen time on set, and how she turned that disappointment into motivation. The discussion highlighted the importance of artists building their own platforms—social media, email lists, and personal branding—so they can maximize any exposure they receive.
Ashley emphasized that content creation is now a crucial part of an artist’s career, sharing how she and her team (including her sister and friends) regularly capture behind-the-scenes moments. Terry and Ashley also discussed the value of relationships made through opportunities, being realistic about reality TV, and finding effective “pay-to-play” platforms for artists.
