Who is Jake Haldenvang?
Jake Haldenvang, a talented musician hailing from Riverside, California, is making waves in the music industry with his soulful voice, exceptional guitar skills, and undeniable passion. Jake’s story begins in Riverside, California, where he was born and raised until his family moved to North Carolina when he was a teenager. At the age of 12, Jake embarked on his guitar journey, fueled by an unwavering determination to master the instrument. Saving every penny he could, he purchased his first set of strings and embarked on a musical adventure.
Within a year, at just 13 years old, he represented Charlotte, North Carolina, in the prestigious 2009 International Blues Challenge, a testament to his prodigious talent and dedication. Jake honed his guitar skills as a teenager, turning them into an extension of his artistic expression. His passion and dedication were evident from an early age, paving the way for remarkable accomplishments that lay ahead. At the age of 15, Jake self-produced his EP, “Tell the Truth,” showcasing his skills as a music producer.
Inspired by his experiences at the International Blues Challenge, Jake embarked on the formation of two bands: Halden Vang and the Jake HaldenVang Band. These ensembles quickly became household names in the local music scene, captivating audiences with their vibrant performances. The bands’ extensive repertoire, encompassing both original compositions and captivating covers, showcased Jake’s artistic versatility and garnered him recognition, including the esteemed Queen City Music Award.
At the age of 16, Jake Haldenvang achieved his first music nomination and was honored as the “Artist of the Year” at the 2011 Queen City Music Awards in Charlotte. He was also inducted into the prestigious “Brotherhood of the Guitar” by renowned rock photographer Robert M Knight. Throughout the years, Jake received nominations in 2013, 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2019, once again securing the title of Queen City’s “Artist of the Year.”
In 2019, Jake reached a significant milestone in his career. He emerged as the winner of the CBS “IBC Challenge” in the Solo/Duo category, earning him a spot in the Memphis International Blues Challenge, where he advanced to the Semi-Finals. Shortly after, Jake made his national TV debut on NBC’s Season 17 of The Voice. His journey on The Voice led him to the “Top 20” Live Show and ultimately secured him a place among the season’s “Top 16” artists.

Currently, Jake is playing throughout the Carolinas. He has played a number of venues in Charlotte, Mooresville, and Concord, NC, and Liberty Hill and Fort Mill, SC. He has upcoming ventures in July in both Charlotte and Moorehead City, NC.
